Tell your own story!  A 3-week workshop designed to help you create, write, and perform an 8 to 10-minute solo piece.
If you’re considering developing a solo show, creating a TED Talk, or just want to understand what makes a compelling narrative, this workshop is for you. We’ll mine your personal history to develop a stage-ready tale, whether it’s about your fraught love life, a nagging medical condition, or a bad haircut. Award-winning performer and teacher Lisa L. Kirchner offers exercises to hone your story to shine a light on a universal truth. We’ll work with stakes, characters, and other techniques to help you take risks with your material. This class will result in a polished piece you’ll perform with the Andi Matheny Acting Studios via Zoom. Suitable for storytellers of all levels. We're offering this workshop at a big discount from the usual tuition cost so take advantage!

Author, journalist, and performer Lisa L. Kirchner brings diverse talents to the classroom. After a career spent heading up international marketing for various organizations, Lisa's life took a U-turn when she moved to India to study yoga and meditation. Back in New York City, she began teaching yoga while writing what would become her critically-acclaimed memoir, Hello American Lady Creature: What I Learned as a Woman in Qatar.  During that time she began performing, becoming a story coach for The Moth, a veteran of several solo shows, and now she's a guest on HSN. She created and hosts St. Petersburg's monthly storytelling show, True Stories. More at www.LisaLKirchner.com
